Kind Soul

Today I went to Smith's to get some groceries. I was having a hard day because my depression was dragging me down. As I walked in I saw a man that I see on occasion. I often see him riding around in a wheelchair with his oxygen. Today, he was sitting by the Smith's entrance. I smiled as I walked in and went about my shopping, not thinking of the man. As I was leaving the store I saw that he had three dozen roses sitting in front of him. I thought that odd, and thought there must be someone special he plans on giving them to. Then we made eye contact, and he said, "Come over and take a free rose." I walked over to him and he said, "I just like to make people happy." He smiled and asked me what color I liked. I told him I like pink, and he told me his favorite color is lavender. He reached over and pulled me out a rose. I told him thank you, and went on my way. He left an impression on me, and I know it will stick. I felt extremely special! The thought occured to me, "I should pay it forward!" I am so thankful for this man, and the way he made me feel so good!
