In reference to my previous post about language, it is important that I make myself clear. I don't like the war, but I do support our troops. I believe that the troops have so much to offer, and I wish they could come home and help their own country. They are wonderful men and women, and they deserve all the support in the world for the hard work they do each day.

Speak the language! WHAT LANGUAGE?!

'If you can read this, thank a teacher -and, since it's in English, thank a soldier'
I read this in an email a friend sent me, and I was extremely angry. What exactly are they implying? That the soldiers are here, as opposed to Iraq, securing the border. Or are they saying that instead of the US Government spending billions of dollars on a waste of a war they are actually putting that money to good use by coming up with a plan for the immigration delema? No wait, It must be that the soldiers are going around enforcing the English language. Yeah, I know, it all sounds pretty stupid doesn't it. So does the statement above though. I am actually for immigration. My Hell, how do you think we ended up here. Why is it that in our ignorance we suppose that we are entitled to... well anything just because we were born here? Why don't we all speak Navajo or Cherokee, oh yeah, because we put an end to that when we as immigrants came here, AND TOOK OVER!
When I was in high school I made the most ignorant comment ever. I said, "I don't mind if people come here from other countries but they need to speak the language!" WHAT LANGUAGE?! Thank heavens I had a wonderful teacher who taught me to love humanity and not shun that which is different.

Darfur
One thing I have been passionate about since I learned about it is the genecide happening in Darfur. Darfur is located in Africa. Basically, Arab groups have been doing horrific things to the Nonarab groups in Darfur. Men, Women and Children are being slaughtered, raped, and forced to leave their homes. If they are not killed by the enemy, the drought might end their lives. Can you possibly imagine what these people are going through? I sure as hell can't, and I am angry that our government is fighting a never ending war when we could, not only be helping our own country, but also stopping these crimes against humanity in Darfur. Panic
Does anyone out there understand panic the way I do? I know there are probably many, some of which, know it far better than I. It is quite overwhelming. I suffer from some bad anxiety that leads into panic. When I am having an attack, my muscles get so weak that I can barely hold myself up. I feel sick. It's hard to eat. It's hard to sleep. And it is extremely relentless in it's efforts to make me as miserable as possible. Sometimes I wonder if I will survive.
I wish there was a cure, but I have found other ways of coping. First of all, I pray. I also try to distract myself. Visiting family is usually very helpful. It's hard to leave the house, I know, but if you fight it really hard, you can leave and sometimes it can be very beneficial.
Don't give up the fight. I know sometimes, if you are like me, you might feel like Walker, Texas Ranger vs. a million bad guys. It can seem very overwhelming but keep fighting.

USA Health Care
I don't know how many of you have been to the doctor's office recently, but I have been interacting with them in the last week and I have been reminded of the incompetance and insensitivity so many doctors and nurses carry with them. Then, of course, you pay a high co-pay to see the doctor, unless by some miracle you found descent insurance somewhere. Last of all, the doctors do little to help.
The documentary, Sicko, by Michael Moore, opened up my eyes to the complete stupidity that is our health care system. Basically, if you can't afford it, you most likely will have little to no options.
